Terrible Two's? Becoming a better mom.

So I was preparing myself for Jaxon to go through the terrible two's,  thinking "he still has half a year before he is two, why the heck is this happening now?".. So why do they call it terrible two's? They should just call it "Momma wants to run away by herself and never come back" lol ok well I only have those days sometimes, but it's becoming more more and more. 

This little stinker right here...don't let that cute smile and those big brown eyes fool you! 

  Yes Jax is such a sweetheart and can be a good boy when he wants to be. But lately he is testing his limits with me. He is starting to hit, disobey, becoming a picky eater, throws fits in the stores, and is now starting to beat up on his little cousin. I know that most of that is normal but I don't know how to handle the situation. I don't believe in spanking, and have resorted to putting Jax in "time out" in his room. I don't know if that will do anything, he may be to young to understand. 

I believe that everyone has their own love language (if you don't know what I am talking about go here  you can also take a test to see what your love language is) and Jaxon's is quality time. 

I know that I have not spent the quality time I should have with him the past few months. Starting my little business and now watching my niece has taken a lot out of my schedule. I think that may be a reason why Jax may be lashing out the way he does. He is showing me that he wants my attention. I realize that now and I have been making more time to spend with him. Don't get me wrong I play with him every day, I just think he needs the attention all the time. He does better when he has his cousin around to play with and I think that he needs friends. He is getting to that social age and it's really not being fullfilled because I don't know a whole lot of people where I live. It makes me sad, and I wish I was more connected to people here.

 But today was a good day we took Jax to the park, I think he needed some fresh air and to get out and play. He is such a dare devil, he climbs all over the big kid part of the play ground and today he went down the big kid slide all by himself, it was so cute! He loved it. 

I need to have more days like this with him, I need to remember that he is number one and everything else can wait. I think all of us mommas need remember that, we can get so caught up in the busy days and we need to learn to slow down. 

New look around these parts!

I got a new look that will stay around for good! 

I was so sick of my blog looking like crap and I kept changing it thinking I would make it look better. Well I suck at computer stuff and couldn't figure anything out. So I was entering a ton of design giveaways and guess what?...I finally won. 

The girl that did my blog design was so awesome her name is Sweta and she designs here . 

She was the sweetest thing and made a blog that I adore, it's so me!

My shop is finally picking up! I have been doing a ton of giveaways lately and I think it's paying off. 

 I am putting some new items in the shop really soon. Some key necklaces, wire wrapped rings, headbands, and some new hand stamped jewelry.

As for everything else going on I am just getting Christmas gifts made and really excited to go to my husbands Christmas party. I just bought a dress that was only $12 and I bought the cutest headband to match. I will post pictures, so excited!!! date night :)

Thanksgiving recap

Finally getting a chance to blog about my Thanksgiving. 

I love Thanksgiving, it was awesome this year because we got to make the turkey. My grandmother always makes it and this year we wanted to try some new things. 

We soaked the turkey in a brine the night before and then we injected some awesome seasonings under the skin. We don't bake our turkey for 7 hours as my grandmother does, we did for 4 1/2 and it was the BEST turkey EVER!!!

It was a quiet Thanksgiving since most of our family lives 400 miles away. But it was so nice, we sat and talked and looked over the black friday ads while eating coffee and pie! 

and I didn't have anything to shop for the next day but decided to go with my mom. It was actually nice not stressing over the black friday shopping, I kinda enjoyed it!

Randomness

This week it turned off so cold! I was not prepared for the cold already and I live in Southern Utah, so it's not that cold here compared to other places. 

So I broke out my winter wear and I am a happy girl. I just love to layer and wear my warm fluffy slippers and hoodies. My favorite thing to do is to curl up on the couch with my heating blanket with some hot chocolate and just watch a movie. I have not done that in a long time and it is so relaxing!

So Jaxon is 16 months old and still has a binki and I mean this kid is attached to this thing. I will take it off to feed him and after he eats he screams for this thing. I have no idea how to break him of this and I don't want a kid that is screaming all the time. Any suggestions mammas?

So this year we are having Thanksgiving at my grandmothers house and she has always made Thanksgiving dinner and will not let anyone help her. But this year me and my husband offered to make the turkey and she AGREED! it's amazing she never let's anyone cook anything (she is from the south and likes to do things the old fashioned way). So me and my husband only agreed to this because last week we made the best turkey breast ever. I never knew that turkey could taste so good. The best part is it was a made up recipe, you know the kind where you add a little bit of this and a little bit of that. So hopefully we can recreate the amazingness again...wish us luck!

I am so excited because I will be doing my first groopdealz feature November 27th!!! I am going to be selling the Joy the Deer necklace. I am nervous because I am really hoping to sell a bunch, so we will see how it goes.

Jax has finally mastered eating with a fork, I think he would have done it a long time ago. But I am such a neat freak and I just don't want a huge mess, and I know that's what would happen if I let him feed himself. But I have let him do it because I know he needs to learn and I need to learn how to deal with messes! But he is so cute when he does it, it's like a huge accomplishment each time he eats!

I love my other blog more!

Um....I love my other blog for one reason and that is because I can enlarge my pictures. I didn't think that would make a big difference but it does. I love showing bigger pictures, it just makes it better to see the details. 

So like I said before on my last blog post I am not computer savvy. I can't figure out how to widen this blog so I can make the pictures extra large. So if any of you lovely smart girls can help me out I would appreciate it so much.
